There are many countries around the globe that have freed themselves from another ruling country and now are living as an independent state. All these countries celebrate their independence day as a day which exhibits their freedom and independence.  We have listed below the top ten such countries that celebrate this day with the most pride and entertainment.

10. Israel

The actual date of the Independence of Israel from the British mandate is 14th May 1948; the day is called Yom Ha’atzmaut, 5th of Iyar. The main event of the day is started with a speech by the speaker of an Israeli Parliament from the Mount Herzi in Jerusalem, later the torch lightning fills up the city. Many roads and places are blocked in the country to make arrangements for concerts and get together for the public and the day is announced to be a holiday for the public.

On number nine is Mexico with an independence day on the 16th of September. The event of the country basically starts a day before, when the President rings the Hidalgo’s historic liberty bell at 11p.m and presents a speech to the nation. After the illustrious speech the festivals of the day start off with Mariachi parades, the well-known bullfights, rodeos and grand feasts. A one day holiday is announced on the day.

The independence day of Greece too is celebrated with great honor and dignity, starting with the military parades in the Athens and some other parts of the country which later follow the dances, banquets and many other religious activities. People of the country are spotted wearing the colors of their country flag on the streets and different festival celebrations are made.

The day is started with a formal military parade on Champs-Elysees. The parade is followed by some amazing celebrations offered by the Fireman in their parties, where they offer the people into their firehouses for some real party, dance and drinking.

Pakistan stands as the fourth country that celebrates its independence day the most. 14th of August 1947 marks the date in history when Pakistan separated itself from British rule and made its own identity. Despite of all the political issues and the problems in the country the ‘Youm-e-Azaadi’ brings all the people of the country together. The preparations for the day are started weeks before. The houses, vehicles and shops are all covered with flags and colors of the flag. The day starts with formal parades and tribute the ones who fought for the country. Concerts, competitions and many television and radio programs are devoted for the day. The national Anthem of the country is known as one of the best ones, whereas the patriots made a record of singing it together on 2011’s Independence Day.

17th of August is the independence day of Indonesia. The morning of the day is all set from the National Palace, where a much respected ceremony of Flag is prepared. High school students from around the country are selected for the purpose of Flag ceremony. The day is then followed by some fun games, concerts, dances and incredible feasts.

Norway’s Independence day, Syttende Mai 17th May, is all about parades. Around 100,000 people gather together in Oslo, which is known to be the center of the country, for the largest parade. The Canada day is without any doubt the celebration day. 1st of July is the day when you have to be out of your houses if you live in Canada, no matter which region you are in you will not miss the parades, fireworks, music concerts, barbecues and sunburn.
